couples therapy
Relationships can be one of the most meaningful parts of our lives, but they can also become places of pain, misunderstanding, distance, and repeated conflict. Many couples find themselves stuck in patterns they did not consciously choose and no longer know how to move out of them. Communication may have broken down, resentment may have built up, or the relationship may simply no longer feel as connected, secure, or satisfying as it once did.
Relationship therapy offers a space to slow things down and understand what is happening beneath the surface. Rather than focusing only on individual incidents or arguments, we look at the wider patterns within the relationship. This can include how each partner communicates and we may look at how we respond to conflict and manage emotions. Often, couples are not simply dealing with the problem in front of them, but with layers of hurt and unspoken meanings that have developed over time.
As an integrative therapist, I work with couples in a way that is balanced, and responsive to the needs of both people. My role is not to take sides, but to help create greater clarity and movement. Sometimes this means helping couples interrupt unhelpful habits and rebuild healthier ways of relating. At other times, it means facilitating more honest conversations that have been difficult to have alone.
Many couples wait until things feel close to breaking point before seeking support. By that stage, the relationship is often carrying a great deal of strain. Therapy can offer a valuable opportunity to pause, gain perspective, and begin a reset. With the right support, couples can often strengthen communication, rebuild trust and connection, and create a more stable and fulfilling relationship.
Whether you are facing a specific crisis or a more longstanding sense of disconnection, relationship therapy can provide a space to better understand one another and decide how you want to move forward.
